Please read through the following information. Once you have, click the “Let’s Talk” button at the bottom of the page to be taken to our Web Chat.
Our free and confidential text/online chat for survivors of sexual violence and harassment is available 24/7!
A trained volunteer will provide trauma-informed support and provide referrals to counselling/community supports when needed.
Due to an increase in demand for services and crisis situations resulting in heightened safety concerns during the COVID-19 Pandemic, you will be asked to provide your email address, postal code and your name or initials. Please note that, at this time, we cannot continue with the chat until we have this information, keeping in my mind that one of the purposes of this chat is to connect you with our centre’s services.
Please try to remain on this chat page while gaining support in case the system asks you to re-enter.
Chats are confidential (a log is kept for 24 hrs for quality assurance) and our chat platform is end-to-end encrypted for online security/safety. This encryption is not guaranteed on your end when texting. A Support Advocate may encourage you to switch to our webchat, however if you can’t, no worries…please continue to text!
This is a place for survivors and their supporters to feels safe, therefore prank or harassing chats that include insults, and foul/threatening language are not welcome, and the volunteer will end the chat if this occurs.
We value the safety of our callers/chatters and thus if you are at risk of immediate or imminent harm or are threatening harm, our Support Advocate has a duty to report this harm to police. If a child or youth under 18 years of age is at risk of harm, we have a duty to report and will help facilitate a call to your local Children’s Aid Society.
If you wish to be a part of our ongoing services such as 1:1 counselling and/or groups, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and a staff person will get back to you.
