The Kawartha Sexual Assault Centre (KSAC) provides healing, safety, and support to those affected by sexual violence and harm, and aims to end sexual violence through prevention education within our communities.

In Peterborough, Kawartha Lakes, Haliburton, and Northumberland

We offer:

We work with local agencies to provide responsive healing supports and prevention education events. We are a feminist, not-for-profit, charitable organization dedicated to supporting those affected by sexual violence and harm. We work with people of all genders aged 16+ who have experienced any form of sexual violence or harm, whether recent or historic. This can include (but is not limited to) gender-based sexual violence, childhood sexual abuse, non-contact sexual abuse, sexual exploitation, workplace sexual harassment, other forms of sexual harassment, and all forms of sexual assault.

Our Funders

KSAC is proud to receive funding from the Ministry of Children and Community and Social Services, Government of Canada – Public Safety Canada, United Way, Trent University, Fleming College, Ontario Trillium Foundation, the Canadian Women’s Foundation, and the City of Peterborough.

Survivor Services

The Kawartha Sexual Assault Centre offers multiple services to support people of all genders who have experienced any form of sexual violence and/or gender-based sexual violence, whether recent or historic. Our support services include:

24/7 Crisis Support Line

The Crisis Support Line is a confidential service available 24-hours a day, seven days a week, including weekends and holidays.

Counselling

KSAC offers group and individual counselling to people of all genders who have experienced recent or historic sexual violence, as well as support for their loved ones.

Groups & Workshops

We offer psycho-educational groups and workshops, therapeutic groups, and expressive arts groups.

Advocacy & Accompaniment

For survivors looking for someone to attend court, and medical appointments, or would like accompaniment connecting to the police.

To access services with KSAC, please contact us to complete a brief intake. This can be completed online, over the phone, or together in person. After you have completed the request for services, you may access all or some of the following services:

In order to ensure that you receive the most appropriate services, KSAC may refer you to other agencies for support.

A Survivors Journey

Did you know that it costs $50 a month to support one survivor at Kawartha Sexual Assault Centre?

Our Survivors Journey Campaign will walk you through the services that our clients receive when they take the brave step in accessing our support. We do ensure that we are client-centered, so all of the sessions are unique to each individual.

Providing online training, professional development and community presentations for volunteers, professionals, adults and youth.

Offering a wide variety of trainings for male-identified people who are interested in learning about their role in ending sexual violence.
